Party Planner for Task Bar of Ragnalis
Sketch three slots, spot overlap, and keep your clearer fed.
Why party planning matters in an idle RPG
Task Bar of Ragnalis centers on a party of up to three heroes fighting automatically on your desktop. You do not micro combos. You do choose who sits in each seat, which class-locked loot is worth keeping, and whether a DLC class solves a real hole or just looks cool on the Steam store page.
This planner is a lightweight sketch pad for those decisions. It will not simulate damage formulas. It will help you label Slot 1–3, notice when every seat is a DPS clone, and write a short build note before you dump materials. Pair it with Party Builds, the Classes hub, and How to Play.
Interactive party sketch
Pick a class for each seat. Use Flex / Unknown when a slot is locked, unowned, or still undecided. Build notes update as you change selections.

How to think about three seats
A healthy idle party usually wants:
- One clearer who receives the best stackable weapon line
- One seat that covers survival or secondary pressure when waves spike
- One flex seat for experimentation, future unlocks, or a DLC identity you actually paid for
Launch players often start with a Gunner-style kit and immediately feel early wave pressure. That does not mean you should buy every class pack on day one. It means Slot 1 should be someone you can gear from free drops, while Slots 2–3 wait until you understand inventory flow. Read Gunner Guide and Beat Early Waves if your opener stalls on early maps.
Pirate and Overlord are paid options. Treat them as tools for specific fantasy and kit coverage, not mandatory tickets to play. Evaluate purchases with Pirate & Overlord and the DLC Cost Checker after the free loop makes sense.
Using the planner without overthinking
- Set Slot 1 to your current clearer (often Gunner at the start).
- Leave locked seats on Flex / Unknown until they open.
- Avoid three identical labels unless you have a deliberate mono-class experiment.
- Read the build note, then open your in-game party screen and mirror only the seats you can actually field.
- Send loot priority to Slot 1 first—confirm with the Stack Calculator so duplicates feed one real tier-up line.
If the note warns about DLC seats you do not own, that is intentional. The planner should remind you not to theory-craft a Pirate opener before the pack is in your library.
Loot and class locks
Party mistakes show up in the inventory as much as on the battlefield. Class-restricted gear for an unused seat is dead weight. Before you redesign the whole team because bags are full, ask:
- Can my Slot 1 equip the best drops I keep seeing?
- Am I holding Pirate or Overlord loot with no matching hero?
- Should I sell off-class junk to protect a nine-copy stack for the clearer?
How to Stack Items and Random Skills Explained explain why two items with the same name are not equal. Party planning decides which name deserves the climb.
Free-to-play versus DLC-aware lineups
You can learn the game without buying classes. A Gunner-led free party plus flex seats is a valid onboarding path. DLC becomes interesting when:
- You like the fantasy enough to gear a second identity
- Your free clearer is stable and inventory rules are clear
- A sale makes Pirate, Overlord, or a bundle cheap relative to your time

Common party mistakes
- Spreading upgrades evenly so nobody tiers up
- Fielding three glass roles with no plan for early walls
- Buying two class packs that overlap a bundle you already eyed
- Ignoring setup issues—tiny UI on 4K can feel like a balance problem; see Taskbar Setup
- Importing comps from Task Bar Hero guides—different title, see vs Task Bar Hero
After you lock a sketch
Return to Early Progression for upgrade pacing, the Tier List for relative class chatter, and the Tools hub when you need stack or DLC math next. Re-open this planner after patches or after a new seat unlocks. Idle games reward boring consistency: one clearer, one stack target, one party note you actually follow.
A good Task Bar of Ragnalis party is not the flashiest Steam screenshot. It is the three seats you can gear, stack, and leave running without dreading the next check-in.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many heroes can I field?
The design centers on a party of three. Unlock and gear seats gradually instead of splitting every upgrade.
Do I need Pirate or Overlord to play?
No. Learn the free loop first. Evaluate DLC with [Pirate & Overlord](/dlc/pirate-overlord/) and the [DLC Cost Checker](/tools/dlc-cost/) when you are ready.
Who should get the best gear?
Usually your clearer in Slot 1. Finish their key stacks before spreading duplicates evenly.
What does Flex / Unknown mean in the tool?
A seat you have not unlocked, have not bought, or have not decided yet. Keep it flexible until the role is real.
