Task Bar of Ragnalis Classes
Four free base classes and two DLC kits for a party of three.
What this hub covers
Task Bar of Ragnalis is a free-to-play idle auto-battler from Jagernaut Games that runs in a compact Windows taskbar window. Combat is automatic. Your lasting decisions are which heroes you field, how you fill eight equipment slots, and how you spend AFK time toward nine-copy tier-ups. This Classes hub is the entry point for every role-focused page on the wiki.
Official Steam news lists four free base classes and two paid DLC classes. Learn them by name before you chase rumor metas:
Free base classes
- Templar Knight — frontline defender powered by Sigils
- Priest — healer who turns Prayer into recovery and rescue
- Witch — backline damage dealer built around Full Cast spells
- Gunner — ranged attacker who marks and eliminates priority targets
DLC classes
- Pirate — paid PIRATES class line; evaluate via Pirate & Overlord
- Overlord — paid OVERLOAD / Overlord class line; same DLC page for pack math
You build around a party of three with frontline and backline seats. Equipment can be class-restricted, so picking a roster also picks which loot you can actually wear. Offline rewards exist; Steam Market trading is indefinitely postponed.
How classes fit the idle loop
While the client stays open, heroes clear waves, open chests, and return gear with random skills. You check in to equip, stack duplicates, and adjust the team. Class choice matters because:
- Drops may lock to specific kits, which is a frequent early-wall complaint
- Random skills feel stronger when they match how a seat already fights
- Three slots mean you should cover clear speed, survivability, and a flexible third role instead of cloning the same fantasy three times
If you are still learning menus, read How to Play first, then return here. Note the Settings Reset button: changing character starts over. If loot is the bottleneck, open the Items hub and How to Stack Items so class theory connects to the nine-copy tier-up rule.
Free path versus DLC classes
The base game is free on Steam (released July 30, 2026). You can learn the full idle loop with Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, and Gunner. Paid packs exist for Pirate, Overlord, storage, and bundles. This wiki keeps DLC evaluation separate so free players are not forced into a shopping list:
- Compare relative strength on the Tier List
- Assemble concrete three-seat plans on Party Builds
- Decide purchases with the DLC hub and Pirate & Overlord
Do not assume paid classes automatically fix a soft account. Soft damage, locked gear, unfinished stacks, or v1.0.2-era chest/EXP/stuck bugs are usually progression or patch problems first. See Beat Early Waves, Early Progression, Patch Notes, and Troubleshooting.
Recommended reading order
- Tier List — role rankings with launch and patch context
- Party Builds — F2P trios and DLC variants
- Free kits in any order: Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, Gunner
- Paid kits only when ready: Pirate, Overlord
- Cross into Random Skills and Tier Up so gear matches the roster
- Use the Party Planner when you want a checklist instead of vibes
Party of three: thinking in seats
A healthy Ragnalis party usually answers three questions:
- Who clears waves the fastest with current gear—often Witch or Gunner?
- Who keeps the team from dying—often Templar Knight and/or Priest?
- Who flexes into leftover locks or a DLC fantasy you paid for?
Spreading upgrades evenly across three weak seats often feels worse than making one clearer strong enough to farm better drops for everyone. That is why the Stack Calculator and party pages belong together.
Distinct from Task Bar Hero
Steam also lists Task Bar Hero by a different studio. Do not import that game’s cube, rune, or hero-upgrade folklore into Ragnalis planning. Ragnalis progression centers on idle auto-battles, three-hero parties, eight equipment slots, nine-copy tier-ups, and random skills on gear. If a guide mentions systems that do not appear in Jagernaut’s store text or launch UI, discard it. Comparison: vs Task Bar Hero.
Desktop readability still affects class play
You cannot evaluate skills or class locks if tooltips are tiny. Pair class pages with Taskbar Setup. v1.0.1 also added a temporary text size option—use it if the compact window is hard to read.

Stay honest about launch context
Launch reception for Task Bar of Ragnalis was rough. Class advice on this hub prioritizes player problems—locked loot, unfinished stacks, weak early clears, chest/EXP bugs—over fantasy rankings that ignore inventory reality. Revisit pages after patches if Jagernaut changes drop rules or class balance. This wiki is unofficial.
Use Classes when you need roster decisions. Use Items when you need loot decisions. Use Guides when you need the step-by-step loop. That split keeps each article deep instead of stuffing every keyword into one page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are the free base classes?
Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, and Gunner. Deep pages exist for each under this hub.
How many heroes can I field?
A party of three with frontline and backline seats. Build clear roles instead of collecting every class name at once.
Do I need Pirate or Overlord DLC to progress?
No. Evaluate paid classes after the free loop works—start with [Pirate & Overlord](/dlc/pirate-overlord/) only when you are ready to spend.
Is class advice from Task Bar Hero usable here?
No. Task Bar Hero is a different Steam game. Stick to Ragnalis systems: three-hero parties, eight slots, stacking, and random gear skills.
